HNC, Indonesia – The Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command (Kodam IM), one of Indonesia’s key military commands, has undergone a significant leadership reshuffle aimed at strengthening organizational effectiveness and preparing for evolving security challenges.

The ceremony was led by the Commander of Kodam IM (Pangdam), Major General TNI Niko Fahrizal, M.Tr.(Han), on Monday (June 30, 2025), at the Sanggamara Field, Makodam IM. The event marked the official handover of duties among a number of senior officers and was attended by top military officials and family members.

Opening his address, Maj. Gen. Fahrizal invited all attendees to offer gratitude for the safe and smooth conduct of the ceremony. He then underscored that position rotations are not merely routine administrative procedures, but crucial elements in maintaining healthy organizational dynamics and fostering leadership regeneration within the Indonesian Army.

“Change of command is not just ceremonial—it plays an essential role in strengthening unit performance, renewing work spirit, and enhancing leadership and managerial competencies,” he said.

The commander extended his appreciation to outgoing officials who had completed their service at Kodam IM. Among them were Colonel Kav Depri Rio Saransi, who will now serve as Patun at the Indonesian Army Staff and Command School (Seskoad), Colonel Czi Agus Iskarman moving to the Army Logistics Staff, Colonel Cpl Asep Indra Setiawan assigned to Puspalad, and Colonel Ctp Drs. Sodikin, who is taking a new post at Kodam Jaya.

Maj. Gen. Fahrizal also paid tribute to the spouses of the departing officers for their unwavering support. “Behind every dedicated officer is a strong and patient partner. Their contribution to our mission is invaluable,” he said.

Welcoming the incoming officers, the commander expressed hope that they would bring fresh energy and innovation. Newly appointed leaders include Lt. Col. Inf Budi Wuryanto as Head of Training at Rindam IM, Lt. Col. Kav M. Ibnu Yarsis Iskandar as Chief of Operational Command Center, Lt. Col. Arh Jamal Dani Arifin as Commander of Military District 0103 (Aceh Utara), and Lt. Col. Inf Irfan Hade Fitrianto as Commander of Military District 0116 (Nagan Raya).

In addition, several high-ranking officers will assume critical strategic roles, such as Colonel Inf Haris Sukarman as Chief of Military Intelligence, Colonel Inf Diantoro as Chief of Operations, and Colonel Arh Sabariyandhu Kristian Saragih as Chief of Logistics. The appointments reflect Kodam IM’s ongoing commitment to adapt to modern defense needs and build a robust leadership pipeline.

“Leadership is a trust, a responsibility that must be carried out with sincerity, loyalty, and a deep sense of service to the nation,” Maj. Gen. Fahrizal emphasized.

As the military landscape continues to evolve, the Pangdam reminded all personnel of the increasing complexity of future missions. He called for continuous, measurable, and focused training and development to ensure that Kodam IM remains resilient and ready to face tomorrow’s challenges.

“May God Almighty guide and protect us all as we carry out this noble duty for the glory of the Indonesian Army, particularly Kodam Iskandar Muda,” he concluded.

The handover ceremony was attended by key leaders of Kodam IM, including the Deputy Commander, Inspector General, Chiefs of Staff, regional commanders, and unit leaders. Also present were liaison officers from the Indonesian Navy and Air Force, members of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana (military wives’ association), and invited guests.[Phona]
